Host
Katy Perry
Katy Perry was undoubtedly one of last year’s breakout stars with her debut album, One of the Boys, selling over 2 million copies globally. She electrified our audience last year as host and performer at the 2008 EMAs and even picked up an award for Best New Act.
EVELYN : She's host in MTV Europe Music Awards 2009. i think Katty Perry was something like " OVER " ! Cold Joke xPP sometimes, nobody care about her :P keep it up katty :)
2009 MTV EMA Show and Winners!
Host Katy Perry brought her trademark energy and quirky humour to the 2009 MTV Europe Music Awards, appearing in a dazzling array of costumes inspired by burlesque and the classic movie musical set in 1930s Berlin, Cabaret. Whether in a stylish bowler hat covered in thousands of crystals, reclining in a giant cocktail glass, or soaring high above the audience on a glittering half-moon shaped swing, Katy fulfilled her hostess duties with signature flair.
Beyoncé was the major winner of the night, walking away with a total of three trophies – for Best Female, Best Song (‘Halo’) and Best Video with her ubiquitous instant classic ‘Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It).’ She also electrified with her upbeat performance of ‘Sweet Dreams,’ while her hubby Jay-Z took us all into an ‘Empire State of Mind’ and won the award for Best Urban.
The show opened with an electrifying number from Green Day, who was also the winner for Best Rock, and was followed by Katy Perry’s irreverent mash-up of the five Best Song contenders.
Rock icons U2 brought Berlin to a standstill with an awe-inspiring and moving performance beamed into the show from the city’s historic Brandenburg Gate, the site of the first-ever EMAs and a symbol of peace to people around the world. In front of 10,000 lucky music fans, the Irish rock legends performed a short set that included ‘Sunday, Bloody Sunday,’ ‘Magnificent’ and ‘One’ – the haunting anthem inspired by the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989. Appropriately enough, U2 won the award for Best Live Act.
Meanwhile, Germany’s own Tokio Hotel showed that they deserved their Best Group win with their explosive performance of ‘World Behind My Wall’ which was so hot, it literally ended with the band’s instruments consumed by flames. Speaking of scorching, Colombian siren Shakira sent temperatures rising with her steamy performance of ‘Did It Again’ which featured dancers dressed only in skimpy towels, while Leona Lewis delivered a strikingly sexy performance of ‘Happy.’
In some of our other close categories, creative powerhouse Lady Gaga was honoured as Best New Act while Placebo cinched Best Alternative. Hip hop star Eminem won Best Male and Turkish hip hop/rock group maNga carried off the crown for Best European Act. Our two newest awards, Best World Stage Performance and Best Push Act, were won by Linkin Park and Pixie Lott respectively.
All in all, the 16th Annual MTV Europe Music Awards were an absolutely stunning and unforgettable event that celebrated freedom, diversity and music.
EVELYN : He's cool. Beyonce and him was a perfect couple & the richest. WHAT A LOVELY COUPLE :D

What Lautner andSwift Did for Valentine's Day
Fri., Sep. 25, 2009 6:15 AM PDT by Marc Malkin
Fame Pictures
Valentine's Day will be that much sweeter with a song from Taylor Swift, don't ya think?
The singer, who plays opposite Taylor Lautner in the upcoming ensemble romantic comedy from director Garry Marshall, will likely be writing and performing a tune for the flick.
"We hope she does," Marshall told me yesterday at Variety's inaugural Power of Women luncheon in Beverly Hills. "But when people write songs, they always want to see the movie.
"[Taylor] wants to see the part that she's in," he added. "I just finished, so I need to edit for a second."
Marshall had hoped that Lautner and Swift would have bigger roles in the movie. Sadly, their busy schedules didn't allow for it.
"She writes songs and sings and he does the vampire thing," Marshall said. "But I discovered Taylor Lautner ran track back in Minnesota. That's why I have him jumping hurdles in the movie. She likes to dance and he likes to jump a hurdle, so we made up the scene for them."

Fashion Police: Lindsay Morphs into 54-Year-Old

Oh dear, Lindsay Lohan seemed to be morphing into Donatella Versace at the Whitney Museum's Gala in NYC last night.
Maybe Michael Lohan is doing the right thing by making an appearance on Maury to ask his daughter to stop with the prescription drugs or whatever he says she's on now?
Wow. We just suggested Michael Lohan could be doing something right, that's how concerned we are by everything going on in this picture.
Let us all remember Lindsay is 23, while Donatella is a 54-year-old former party girl turned designer. They have the same bleached hair, same seemingly enhanced lips that go all weird when they try to smile, same little party dresses...
Really, the only difference is Lindsay's the one who can barely open her eyes.
________
Lindsay isn't the only one making questionable fashion choices, see who else is in trouble with our Fashion Police.

Selena Gomez Gets Her Own Fashion Line
Thu., Oct. 15, 2009 10:11 AM PDT by Ella Ngo
Does Selena Gomez ever sleep?
According to Women's Wear Daily, the Disney star and pop singer is collaborating with a creative team to design Dream Out Loud by Selena Gomez. The line consists of "pretty, feminine and bohemian" clothes and accessories (made of eco-friendly and organic materials, natch) that are similar to the starlet's own aesthetic.
These days when a celebrity announces a fashion venture, we're usually like, "Whatever—join the club, everybody's got one."
But the 17-year-old actress is one of the best-dressed junior fashionistas in Hollywood, and she seems like a genuinely nice young lady, so we're kind of excited to see what she has to offer.
What about you? Would you buy what Selena's selling? Weigh in below!

Taylor Swift 'Not Dating' Taylor Lautner
Published Friday, 16th October, 2009 at 2:37 PM
Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner are not dating, it has been confirmed.
'New Moon' star Lautner was seen at two of Swift's Chicago shows last week - instantly causing a whirlwind of rumors surrounding the pair's relationship.
The gossip then heated up further still when the pair were seen hugging, and it was soon all over the web that the Taylor's were an item.
However, a representative for Swift has denied she is dating her 'Valentine's Day' co-star, insisting that they are "just friends".
We never believed it anyway - Taylor <3>______________________________________________
BEYONCE'S
Beyonce Knowles won't be baring her booty in Malaysia after she refused to bow to radical Muslim student demands that she keep it covered.
Music industry sources said that Pineapple Concerts canceled her Nov. 1 Kuala Lampur gig because Beyonce balked.
Officially, the Grammy-winning singer's agents say the cancelation was "due to a scheduling conflict."
Pineapple Concerts Chairman Razlan Ahmad Razali, noting he was "disappointed and frustrated," made clear the Islamic strictures were really to blame.
Western performers face mounting pressure in Malaysia to keep skimpy clothes and steamy dance moves off the stage amid protests by conservative Muslims who believe liberals can corrupt young people.
Gwen Stefani made what she called "a major sacrifice" in August by wearing clothes that revealed little skin at a Kuala Lumpur concert after Muslim students and activists called for the performance to be canceled due to her sultry reputation.
Beyonce don't play that.
Instead, she will perform in Jakarta, Indonesia, Razali said.
"Though Indonesia is also a Muslim country, it doesn't have all these issues that we have," he said. "She can perform as she likes there."
Amen.

beyonce will be bringing her show to Malaysia's largest city, Kuala Lumpur, on October 25, but it will be without some of her usual tricks. After encountering what has become familiar opposition from religious groups in the world's most-populous Muslim country, the singer has agreed to tone down some parts of her act, according to The Associated Press.
"We are against Western sexy performances; we don't think our people need that," a spokesperson for the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party stated. But a rep for the concert's Malaysian organizer told the AP that "all parties have reached an amicable understanding" about the performance.
The rep said that Beyoncé should be regarded as a "role model" and an "embodiment of success" because of her philanthropic work, including campaigns against poverty and domestic violence, according to the AP.
Two years ago, Beyoncé was on the verge of doing a show in Malaysia but backed out due to similar protests regarding the singer's performance. But now, the Marctensia rep told the AP, "We are confident that Beyoncé's concert will once and for all silence international critics and put Malaysia back on track and move up the ranks in presenting A-list international pop concerts in this region and further boost tourism."
Other artists, including Rihanna, Gwen Stefani and Avril Lavigne, have toned down their shows for Malaysian dates in recent years.
